Just like any commodity, from wheat to bubblegum, the price of stocks changes depending on supply and demand. When more people want to buy the stock, there is more demand, so it goes up. Of course, when more people want to sell the stock, it drops. The difficulty is to figure out what more people want. There are as many opinions on that as there are the professionals who guess. Every approach is different.
